ADAC Car Seat Test Results Autumn 2017
The latest results are in! All the best car seats have been tested once again at the testing centre to complete the Autumn ADAC Stiftung Warentest Kindersitze 2017. We've scoured through the results to update you on the latest scores and inform you on any news worthy new seats! Starting at Infant carriers, through combination seats right up to High Back Boosters, the ADAC thoroughly test the seats beyond safety regulations to determine that they are not only super safe, but actually reasonable to use and fit. Together, these elements are taken into consideration to create a score. The ADAC also consider the materials the seat is made from to ensure no potentially harmful substances are used.
The Autumn results reiterate the strong players in the market such as Cybex, Besafe and Kiddy, while also including some new names such as gb. You can take a look at our blogs discussing the 2016 and Spring 2017 results for more recomendations and discussion of worthy car seats. With the car seat market becoming increasingly competitive, brands are constantly improving their seats to make them even safer and easier to use. The majority are now releasing seats with i-Size and ISOFIX as a standard feature, with Side Impact Protection also key to car seats for every age. Extended rear facing has been championed for a number of years as the safest direction of travel, so many seats are increasing the time for which you can rear face the seat, and trying to tackle the issues that come with rear facing. Many brands are introducing the 360 swivel feature for easier access in and out of the seat. A number of these seats have been included in Autumn 2017's testing. Below are a number of seats that the ADAC have rated as 'Good' in their most recent testing and we thought were worth a look.
