Britax Römer

One of the safety standards we are all familiar with is ISOFIX. This was co-developed in partnership between Volkswagen and Britax back in 1997 with the aim of simplifying installation and ultimately reducing misuse. Since 2004 this system has been part of the EU test standard used by all manufacturers. But the Britax Romer system is unique in that it incorporates a pivot system called pivot link. This patented system conducts the energy from the collision down into the vehicle seat before any forward rotation happens to create a two stage movement instead of one as found on some rigid ISOFIX systems. The result of this two stage movement is a more controlled deceleration and reduced forces exerted through the car seat passenger.
