Plus Test Car Seats
What is the Plus Test?
The Swedish Plus Test is a notoriously stringent crash testing procedure with a reputation for being incredibly difficult to pass. Introduced in 2009, the Plus Test generally focuses on rear-facing seats due to the fact that testing criteria is so tough to meet, forward-facing seats simply don't stand much of a chance, and to date no forward-facing car seat has managed to succeed in acquiring Plus Test approval. The Swedish Plus Test is entirely voluntary, so it is up to the manufacturer whether or not they have their seats tested, however if you are looking for complete safety then Plus Test approved car seats are the best way to know which models can provide protection when you need it most.
What Does the Test Involve?
The Swedish Plus Test covers:
- Higher speed impact crashes
- Very short braking distances resulting in violent force exerted on dummy
- Carefully measured force on dummy's neck with highly sensitive sensors to determine fatal force
The Plus Test is more extensive and rigorous than the standard European ECE R44 testing and even surpasses i-Size tests. For more information and recommendations click here, and if you have any questions feel free to contact our customer service team via email, or give us a call on 0117 986 8184.
